Yoga Basics. The beauty of yoga is that once you learn the basics, you can enter any class and practice safely and effectively at your own level. In this class, you will be introduced to the primary yoga poses with an emphasis on form, function, transitions, and the development of breath work—all essential to a good yoga practice. Great for beginners or those who would like to move more slowly, relieve stress, or refine their foundation. This class embodies the truth that Yoga is for every body, no matter what age, shape, size, or fitness level.

Gentle Yoga. Massage your body with movement as you work through all the major joints, beginning with the feet and toes, then moving through the meridians and connective tissue of the hands, wrists, shoulders, back, neck, and other areas that long to feel more alive. Drawing upon Feldenkrais techniques, and with the help of props, this class will gently improve your balance and range of motion and cultivate a greater sense of ease from within. Excellent for injury prevention as well. This class is for all levels; beginners welcome.

Sacred Dance Fusion. Sacred Dance Fusion encourages you to break through boundaries and explore freedom in movement. Through tribal, serpentine, exotic belly dance, Middle Eastern and West African dance styles, SDF will give you a richer, deeper body-breath experience.

Booty Camp. Ladies and Gents! Come join Rebecca for a fun and invigorating booty camp class. Booty Camp works those problem areas FAST by getting down to business and targeting the hot spots. Lighten up, have fun, fun, fun and look Hot too!

Mat Pilates.

Moving Meditation. “Creating flow and peace for body and soul.” An enlivening blend of release and energy movements, Moving Meditation leads you through a qigong series to release blocked energy and create a balanced flow of health and vitality throughout the body. Class includes Yoga moves, music, dance, breath-work and guided relaxation.

Yin Yoga. Yin Yoga is hard to classify, for good reasons! It is suitable for beginners and those with stiffer bodies because of its slower pace. The poses are held longer, giving time for the body’s deep, dense tissue to soften and release.  Yet it also benefits long-term Yoga practitioners for the same reasons, complimenting active practice and providing opportunities to explore the mind’s responses to the challenge of staying with the sensation of a long-held pose. Yin Yoga is highly beneficial for the body’s connective tissue, including the joints and ligaments.

Yogalates. A dynamic class that combines the slow controlled breathing and stretching of Yoga with the core strengthening power of Pilates.

Relaxing & Restorative Classes (no experience needed)

Restorative Yoga. Looking to relax and renew? Judith Lasater refers to Restorative Yoga as “active relaxation.” Through the use of supportive props, Restorative Yoga alternately stimulates and relaxes the body, creating physiological balance. The poses soothe the nervous system and can reduce the effects of stress-related disease. Restorative practice is especially effective at alleviating stresses we experience at challenging times in our lives, such as illness, loss, overwork, or life changes, as well as the stresses we experience every day. It’s a wonderful way to prepare your body for sleep, and is tremendously helpful for insomnia.

Restore. Slow, gentle movement combined with breath allows the body to soften and release. Feel old tension drift away as the mind also lets go of its knots. Body and mind emerge renewed and rested.

Deep Relaxation/Yoga Nidra. Similar to Restore, but even more restful, this class draws upon Yoga Therapy’s vast wealth of simple yet effective stress-relieving modalities. Combines gentle movement with guided relaxation, meditation, and Yoga Nidra. Known as “sleep of the Yogi,” Yoga Nidra provides a guided meditation, withdrawing the senses from the world outside and directing them toward the world within. As the body relaxes, the mind finds release, opening to intuition, insight, and greater peace.
